CHEROKEE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

OSIYO: LET's TALK CHEROKEE!

(from OSIYO TV -- a REGIONAL EMMY WINNER)

OSIYO means Hello in Cherokee.

Cherokee is just one of the many hundreds of Amerindian Languages -- many of these Amerindian languages have just a tiny handful of speakers.

Sadly, many Amerindian languages are going extinct, or, are now extinct.

Therefore, a TV Show, a Regional Emmy Winner, dedicated to preserving the Cherokee language and Culture is truly noteworthy.

RAP MUSIC is just one of the many cultural influences that have animated the desire to learn Amerindian languages among young Native Americans- they are fiercely proud and want to re-connect with their language and culture.
